One afternoon I checked my Instagram account and realised Aaron had tagged his partner Monita in a post. Aaron sent me a private message shortly afterwards saying he was secretly proposing to Monita in Iceland and he would love if I could capture it for them (without Monita knowing). Of course my first thought was ‘heck yeah!’ So Aaron and I arranged to meet in London to talk through his plans. We got along so well straight away as we had so much in common. Aaron had a background in graphic design also and he’s a great photographer so I was super excited to create something special for them both.
Once I arrived in Iceland I bumped into Aaron and Monita near Skógafoss (a waterfall). I had already been in Iceland for a while so I had a pretty good idea of a few places we could tee up a shoot. Monita thought it was just a typical couple shoot so she was keen to do whatever and go with the flow.
We decided to wake up early the next morning and start the day in a beautiful canyon called Fjaðrárgljúfur.
